Ericka R. Lawrence is an Associate Professor of Management at East Carolina University. Her primary research interests are in ethical decision making, burnout and work-family issues. Her research has been published in journals such as Business Ethics Quarterly, Journal of Occupational Health Psychology, Journal of Business Research, and International Journal of Selection and Assessment among other journals. She has presented her research at the Academy of Management and Southern Management Association annual meetings. She primarily teaches courses in business ethics, human resource management, and organizational behavior. She has also extended her research interests by designing and teaching an engaged learning course in Spring 2019.

Dr. Lawrence has also been involved in the University’s mission of economic transformation in several ways. She has selected as a BB&T Faculty Fellow and has participated in the Engaged Outreach Scholars Academy (EOSA). Her work in EOSA consisted of a partnership with the City of Greenville’s Minority/Women Business Enterprise office to provide a business skills bootcamp to enhance the entrepreneurial skills MWBE owners. She is also the recipient of ECU’s Diversity and Inclusion Research and Scholarship Award to further her research efforts.

Dr. Lawrence received her Ph.D. in Management from the University of Alabama and has a MAcc from the University of Alabama at Birmingham along with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Montevallo. Prior to academia, she served as a tax manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and has worked in various roles at other financial institutions.
