John Reisch is a Professor at ECU where he has been since 1999. He is also a licensed CPA. Dr. Reisch has an undergraduate degree in finance and marketing from the University of Virginia, a Master of Accountancy from the University of Alabama, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of South Carolina. Before entering academics, he worked in banking for a predecessor of Bank of America and in public accounting for Ernst & Young, both in Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to ECU, he taught at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida for three years. His research and teaching interests are primarily in auditing, fraud examination, and managerial/cost accounting.

Professor Reisch and his wife, Michele, have two teenage children, a daughter and a son. Speaking of Mrs. Reisch, Michele is also on the accounting faculty at ECU. However, the Reisches promise they do not sit around the office discussing accounting all day. For fun, Dr. Reisch spends time with his family, reads, plays poker, hunts, fishes, and plays sports (mostly tennis). He also loves college football, especially the Carolina Gamecocks and the ECU Pirates! He is very involved with his church and several community organizations in Greenville, including being scoutmaster of his son’s Boy Scout troop.
