Immediate Full Time position | Neuse Sports Shop in Kinston | Assistant Fishing Buyer
Scope of position:
- Assist Fishing and Marine Hardware Buyer in the purchasing and selling of goods.
- Buy from suppliers at the best price and terms to maintain consistent sustainable sales and profits.
- Merchandise fishing department to create the fresh buy appeal, including rotating seasonal end caps, signage and maintain price integrity with ARS/IMS system.
- Develop and maintain training programs for staff continuing education and product knowledge.
- Maintain inventory levels to achieve budgeted inventory goals.
- Establish great relationships with vendors, sales reps, Rep groups and distributors.
- Attend buying shows with overnight travel required.
Duties:
- Assist Customers in a friendly, courteous and conscientious manner.
- Be able to operate a cash register. Also be able to count change if machine fails.
- Stock shelves with merchandise.
- Provide leadership and training for new employees.
- Perform cash register closeouts at the end of the day.
- Make decisions on stale merchandise to move out.
- Maintain department in an orderly fashion so customers can shop.
- Must be available to work December 26 and other days that may be required by management.
- The above duties are not all inclusive and may be required by management to assist in other duties.
Requirements:
- Pleasant positive attitude.
- Ability to make decisions with little to no supervision.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to lift 50+lbs.
- Must sign a no competing agreement.
- Ability to get along with others and become a team player.
- Continue education.
