Student Spotlight on Rebecca Foster
A bit about Rebecca:
Rebecca Foster lives in Winterville, NC and attended the University of Louisville where she earned a B.S. in Physical Therapy. When Rebecca isn’t in class or at work, she enjoys exploring Eastern North Carolina, writing short stories, learning to how to SUP (stand up paddle boarding).
Rebecca has always had a love for learning, as evidenced by her diverse academic background, ranging from a degree in French, Biology, physical therapy, and now pursuing a MBA. She is also an avid life-learner, enjoying pursuits such as a creative writing class, a dry stone masonry class and learning to make bread and pie crusts from scratch. Rebecca feels lucky to have had the opportunities to pursue her interests that have introduced her to some great people and experiences. She is excited to see what new opportunities that will follow her upcoming MBA achievement.
Why she chose the MBA@ECU:
Rebecca chose the MBA@ECU because of the attention and assistance provided to the DE student which has allowed her to work full time and still attend the MBA curriculum on her own schedule. Another contributing factor in her decision to attend is that the MBA@ECU is a highly rated and recognized program.
Favorite Thing about Class:
Rebecca feels that she has learned something in each class that has been applicable not only to class work but my everyday life. She says that each class has had its own unique rigors that made her feel that she had accomplished significant and worthwhile. She has also appreciated being challenged in areas that she might not have had pursued otherwise.
She truly appreciates having the opportunity to pursue her MBA without sacrificing the other aspects of her life. She also values being able to have the option to benefit from all the resources that ECU provides, online and on campus.
Advice to fellow COB Grad Students:
Get organized, stay organized and reach out to your professors and fellow students early and often, as most of your problems have come up before and there is usually an easy solution. You don’t have to struggle alone.
