We're Glad You're a Pirate!

Congratulations on your admission to the ECU College of Business Graduate program! We look forward to having you join our talented group of students from around the region, country, and world. As an ECU College of Business Graduate Student, you will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts, develop in-demand skills and knowledge, and join a network of high performing peers!

Because we offer students the flexibility to choose what classes and what course load works best for them, students may take a semester or more away from the program as needed. There is no academic penalty and no worry that you’ll miss a class that is only offered in a certain term. All required classes are offered each spring and fall semester.

Technology

You are assigned both a Pirate ID and ECU ID (also known as your Banner ID) when you are admitted to the program. Your Pirate ID and passphrase will grant you access to all of the electronic resources (Blackboard, PiratePort, and PirateMail) available to you at ECU.

You will need to change your passphrase before you attempt to log on to any of the University systems.  Instructions for how to do so can be found at here.  After changing your passphrase, log on to these three systems to ensure that you have correct access.   The Student Help Desk can assist you with any technical problems.

Pre-Term Experience/Orientation

Before beginning classes, the College of Business Graduate Office requires all students to complete the online Pre-Term Experience course through Blackboard. Failure to do so will result in a hold being placed on the student’s account that will prevent registration for subsequent semesters. Readmitted students who have already completed the Pre-Term do not need to complete the module again.

Registering for Classes

Students can register for Spring 2017 classes on Friday, October 28, 2016, beginning at 1:00pm, through Banner Self Serve in PiratePort.  If a class is full, you will need to place yourself on the waitlist for that class. Detailed information on registering or waitlisting for courses can be found on our Registration page. Students are expected to complete registration, including the payment of all required fees, on the dates prescribed in the university calendar. This recent post in the Pirate’s Compass reviews some tops tips for registering.

If you have any questions at all, please contact your advisor! Go Pirates!
