Do You Need to File a Time Extension?
Did you know that some there is a 6-year time limit on some graduate courses? If you do not complete your program within 6 years of starting it, you may have to retake some classes. Read the Graduate School’s policy on Time Limitations as they pertain to Graduation Requirements.
MBA Program Courses
NOT held to 6-year time limit:
- Foundation
ARE held to 6-year time limit:
- CBK (Common Body of Knowledge)
- Electives/Certificate
MSA Program Courses
NOT held to 6-year time limit:
- Business Core
- Accounting Evaluation
ARE held to 6-year time limit:
- Accounting Breadth
- Accounting Elective
A few examples
Example 1: You took FINA6204 and MIS6713 in Fall 2012
- FINA6204 will not expire
- MIS6713 will need to be retaken if you do not complete the program by the end of Summer 2017
Example 2: You took FINA6624 in Summer 2014 and you are pursuing the Finance certificate with your MBA
- FINA6624 will need to be retaken if you do not complete the certificate AND MBA program requirements by the end of Spring 2020.
Example 3: You took ACCT6611 in Spring of 2011
- ACCT6611 will need to be retaken if you do not complete your MSA program requirements by the end of Fall 2016.
