Pirates Aboard: The New Name of Pre-Term
Effective immediately, the College of Business’s Graduate Programs online orientation course in Blackboard will be called Pirates Aboard. The previous name for Pirates Aboard was the Pret-Term experience.
There have been some recent updates to the course, including the addition of more videos.
Some helpful reminders about Pirates Aboard:
- All new graduate students in the College of Business are required to complete entire course. This includes MBA, MSA, and certificate students.
- Students who are readmitted to their graduate program and have previously completed the PreTerm or Pirates Aboard will not be required to complete the course again.
- It takes about 2 hours to complete. You can proceed at your own pace.
- You must pass all the quizzes in each module of the course.
- You must email gradbus@ecu.edu upon completion of the course.
- Failure to complete the entire Pirates Aboard course prior to the first day of class for the semester in which you are admitted to your program will result in a hold being placed on your student account. This hold will prevent you from registering for future courses. The hold will be removed once you complete the course and notify our office.
- Pirates Aboard will be available in Blackboard throughout your program to serve as a resource for you. You can access it as often as you need it. If you don’t see Pirates Aboard as a class in Blackboard after you are logged in, please email gradbus@ecu.edu so we can make sure you have access to the course.
