"Haven" Online Module for New Students
New students will have previously received an email from “Haven” informing you that you are required, as a new graduate student taking at least one campus designated course at ECU, to complete a module on the importance of safety pertaining to sexual harassment and conduct. It is important for you to remember that you will not be allowed to register for Spring 2018 if you do not complete this training. PLEASE BE SURE TO COMPLETE THIS TRAINING MODULE ASAP.
The training has 2 parts and they must be completed 30 days apart. Therefore, it is important for you to complete Part 1 of 2 ASAP.
Here again are the instructions you already received.
TIMELINE FOR HAVEN MODULE
• August 22, 2017: Access granted to the module. Approximately 90 minutes to complete.
• August 28, 2017: Begin email reminders to your ECU email account every 2 days.
• September 11, 2017: Deadline for completion of Haven Part 1 of 2.
• October 30, 2017 by 5:00 pm: Haven Completion Deadline, Parts 1 & 2.
• October 31, 2017: Records will be “tagged” due to non-completion of this module.
• November 3, 2017 – November 3, 2017: Spring 2018 Registration begins.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS
7. Go to PiratePort enter your Pirate ID and Passphrase.
8. Click on the “Tools” tab at the top of the page.
9. Click on “Safety Awareness” under the Student Affairs heading. Click “Proceed to Haven” to access the module.
For the Haven Module:
10. Click on Haven link and accept the “Terms Agreement” to begin. There are two parts to this module.
Part 1 will be due by Monday, September 11, 2017. Part 2 will be due by Monday, October 30, 2017.
11. You may log in and out of the module at any time, but ensure that you’ve completed a lesson before logging out. It is recommended that you complete the section you are in before you log out; otherwise you may be required to repeat that section.
There is an intercession period of 30 days between completion of Part 1 and Part 2. You will not be able to access the module during this 30 day period.
12. Access to Haven Part 2 will reopen as soon as your 30-day intercession has ended.
