We are currently seeking a passionate, dedicated and driven volunteer who will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of the senior housing project ensuring consistency with COMPASS’ strategy, commitments and goals.

The Volunteer Project Manager will support the work of COMPASS and provide project management for the senior housing project, which is currently in it’s initial stages. The non-profit operations are facilitated by the Upper Coastal Plain Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Program Director and the COMPASS Board of Directors, who will also oversee the senior housing project.

We are seeking someone who will…

  • lead the planning and implementation of project
  • facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • define project tasks and resource requirements
  • develop full scale project plans
  • assemble and coordinate project staff
  • manage project budget
  • manage project resource allocation
  • plan and schedule project timelines
  • track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • provide direction and support to project team
  • provide quality assurance
  • constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • project evaluations and assessment of results

Who has the following Education and Experience…

  • qualification in project management or equivalent
  • knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
  • knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • experience or knowledge of people management
  • experience or knowledge of strategic planning
  • experience or knowledge of risk management
  • experience or knowledge of change management
  • experience or knowledge of project management software
  • experience or knowledge of housing development
