Opportunity #1
The Office of Global Affairs seeks one graduate assistant for on-campus employment for Summer Session 1, 25 hours per week. Responsibilities will include general support of OGA and working with staff from various units within the Office of Global Affairs during the website migration process from Commonspot to WordPress. This may include designing materials for posting, reformatting existing content, proofreading, and website user testing. Candidates should be familiar with WordPress. Opportunity #2

The East Carolina University College of Education Department of Education Leadership is seeking a graduate research assistant to assist with her research pursuant to the Andrew Carnegie Faculty Fellowship for Summer 2018 through Spring 2019 semesters, with an opportunity for a one year renewal. REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDACY Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and full time enrollment in an ECU graduate program are required. Preference is given to candidates specializing in higher education/student affairs, social sciences, or a related field. The candidate must possess an academic background that will satisfy the graduate entrance requirements of East Carolina University. Previous experience in research and editing is desired. RESPONSIBILITIES The Education Leadership Graduate Research Assistant is expected to assist with literature reviews, data collection, organization and project management. Applicants should have strong communication and writing skills and skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SPSS is preferred. The GA will be required to compile and research information and should be comfortable working with faculty and staff. Per ECU policy, students will be selected based on an evaluation of academic records, recommendations, experience, and other relevant criteria. To qualify for a full-time assistantship, students must be enrolled as a full-time student, and in good academic standing. Students do not need to be registered in the summer as long as they were full-time in the spring and pre-registered full-time in the fall. To be exempt from FICA tax in the summer, students have to be registered for at least 3 semester hours. Opportunity #3
The Division of Research, Economic Development and Engagement is seeking a Graduate Assistant to work within the Offices of Postdoctoral Affairs and Undergraduate Research. These offices are dedicated to ensuring successful training and work experiences for postdoctoral research associates and access to quality undergraduate research opportunities to all students.
The primary purpose of this assistantship is to provide basic office and research support, which requires computer expertise, including word processing, data gathering and presentations. Software experience with Word, Excel and/or statistics programs and PowerPoint is required. The qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to adjust to different tasks on a daily basis and to work independently. This position requires a high-level of professionalism along with excellent oral and written communication skills, including email, note-taking and office documenting.
