Department Overview
The Financial Aid Office provides education, guidance and support on the process for receiving aid to students and families to enable attendance and pursuit of education at East Carolina University. We hope to increase the financial literacy amongst students to assist them in making good financial decisions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a current ECU student.
- Must be in good academic standing.
- Must be eligible for Federal Work Study funding.
- Ability to plan, implement and articulate programming for financial well-being.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Scope of Position
The Financial Wellness Outreach Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation and assessment of financial wellness activities, special events and educational programs. The Program Assistant will report to the Director of Financial Aid.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze financial well-being programs (Cash Course, others) geared toward college students
- Develop and coordinate a financial literacy program under the advisement of the Financial Aid Director.
- Plan, implement and assess campus-wide programs about financial literacy for college students.
- Plan and implement weekly/monthly financial literacy programs
- Develop one’s own knowledge, performance, and abilities through supervisor and self-reflection.
Dates of Employment & Compensation
- Starting hourly rate will be $12.00/hour.
- Reports to the Director of Financial Aid.
