For a Supply Chain based approach for marketing a regional Geography

 Position Summary: Participating and supporting the research team of the above research tile in preparing manuscript, by taking leading role in literature survey and in preparing database for the potential respondents of the planned survey of this research. The data base preparation will involve understanding the research questions and objectives, searching and identification of suitable business from regions and states decided by the PIs to become potential respondents of the survey.  The GA will also guide the EC scholars who will work with GA in this database preparation and other works when applicable.

Start and End Dates:  Beginning Aug 15, 2019 and ending dates May 30, 2020.

Reimbursement: $4500/per year for fulltime, 10 hours/week, 15 weeks in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020

 Qualifications & Application Process: enrolled as a graduate student at ECU, 2) able to commit 10-20 hours/week as a graduate research assistant, 3) leadership skills, 4) interest in community engagement, 5) minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA, 6) verbal and writing skills, 7) completed the CITI IRB modules, 8) Good understanding on empirical/survey based research methodology; knowledge about Research questions, Hypothesis and hypothesis testing, knowledge on descriptive statistics and analysis of descriptive analysis findings; knowledge on inferential statistics and analysis of such statistical findings. Based on such knowledge GA will be expected to present the analysis in the manuscript.

Expectations:

Attend Student Engagement and Outreach Scholars Academy, workshops held on selected Friday afternoons of Fall Semester. Attend HNRs 3100 on Fridays 1:00 to 3:00pm.

Work as a member of a research team consisting of the faculty mentor, EC Scholar, and GA.

Complete research tasks as assigned by faculty mentor.

 

Specific Tasks:

  • Study the Scientific Aspects of Research Protocol, study the Research Design, Survey Instrument.
  • Support EC Scholars and take the leadership role in various tasks for understanding Survey outcomes.
  • Conduct detailed Literature study and compile the study outcome to prepare a short Manuscript on Literature Review Study for Geography Marketing.
  • Study and understand the Statistical Analysis outcomes by the CSR.
  • Start writing the Manuscript on the research
