Non-Perishable Food and Hygiene Drive | Feb 24-28

“Pirates Give from the Heart” Spring Food Drive campaign will run the week of February 24-28, 2020.  Coordinated by the Center for Counseling and Student Development, the Dean of Students Office, ECU Transit, College of Engineering and Technology, and the College of Business, the goal of the campaign is to tackle food insecurities on our campus.

There are 4 ways to participate:

  • Collection boxes in Bate
  • Collection box outside Main Campus Student Center
  • Collection boxes on ECU transit buses
  • Food donations can be purchased online at yougivegoods.com/ecupantry, and they will be delivered to ECU

The Purple Pantry, a food bank currently located in the Main Campus Student Center, is aimed at reducing food insecurity on ECU’s campus.  A partnership between the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in Greenville and several campus offices and organizations, the Purple Pantry is available to all enrolled students, Monday through Friday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm or by appointment. Since April 2018, the Purple Pantry has seen 277 visits.  In Fall 2019, 1436 lbs of food were distributed to ECU students.
