Updates for Proctored Exams

Due to concerns regarding the health of our campus communities, the following changes will take effect immediately for all proctored exams and appointments currently in UNC Online:

  • All face-to-face exam appointments will be canceled and deleted. If you had an appointment with a face-to-face proctor, it will be deleted, and you must now schedule an appointment with the webcam/online proctor.
  • All proctored exams must now be in the online format. Paper exams will be deleted from UNC Online.
    • NOTE: If your instructor decides to create an online exam, in place of your online+paper or paper exam, then you must schedule an appointment with the webcam/online proctor.
  • Going forward, the only proctoring option available to you will be the webcam/online proctor.
  • If you already have an appointment with the webcam/online proctor and:
    • Your instructor deletes their exam(s) then your appointment will be automatically cancelled and you will be refunded the cost of your appointment. More Info
    • Your instructor does NOT delete their exam(s) then your current appointment is still good. No action is required on your part unless you want to reschedule. More Info

Please be sure to keep the below information for future reference in regards to your exam appointments with the WebCam Proctor (Examity).

The “Start Exam Now” link only shows up in UNCO 15 minutes in advance of your appointment. This link will NOT automatically appear if you have logged into UNCO greater than 15 minutes in advance. If you do log into UNCO 15 minutes in advance then you will need to reload/refresh your UNCO exam appointment page in order to see the “Start Exam Now” link.

Private Location: You are required to take your exam in a private location. To learn more, click here.

Profile Information: The first time you use the WebCam Proctor (Examity), you will be prompted to set up your profile. Your profile is required information that will be used by Examity Proctors to authenticate you for each exam appointment. To learn more, click here.
