Pirates to the Polls!
The Student Government Association (SGA) and the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) would like to share information with you about the upcoming general election. We are committed to providing our students with non-partisan information and encouraging everyone to engage in the democratic process.
The Main Campus Student Center will be a one-stop early voting location again this election! The one-stop early voting site in the Main Campus Student Center (room 125) will be open October 15-31 (specific dates/times can be found above). College students have the option to register to vote using their campus address (residence hall or apartment) or their permanent home address. They must be registered in Pitt County to vote at this early voting location. They can register and vote same day at this location!
ECU has partnered with the Andrew Goodman Foundation to provide an online portal where students can check your registration status, register to vote, look up candidates through their sample ballot, request an absentee ballot, and more! Please encourage students to click here for that portal or visit our Election 2020 website for more information. Students have also been added to a Student Affairs Resources course on Canvas that they can explore to learn more about elections and voting. Just tell them to log into their Canvas account with their Pirate ID and passphrase.
If students have moved back home due to COVID-19, they can still use any of these resources to vote in their area or to assist with an absentee ballot request.
Students should count themselves here in Greenville as a student at ECU. If they lived in campus housing this spring (2020), they have already been counted. If they lived off campus they should click here to complete the Census. For more information about college students and the Census click here.
Should you have any questions related to voting or Census 2020 please feel free to stop by the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement in 208 of the Main Campus Student Center or email vote@ecu.edu. Thanks and remember #PiratesVote!
