Check For Holds

Registration for the Spring 2023 semester will begin at 1pm on Friday, November 4.

ECU uses “holds” to prevent students in certain situations from registering for classes. For example, students who are currently on academic probation are prevented from registering until Spring grades have posted. Students who owe money to the university are prevented as well.

We strongly suggest that you check your holds now and again on 11/2 and 11/3.

View instructions on how to check for holds (PDF). If you have a hold, please review Office of the Registrar – Holds for information on how to get it resolved.

Students who are currently on probation will NOT be allowed to register until after Fall 2022 grades have been posted.

If you have a Financial Aid Exit Interview hold, please complete the Exit Counseling. Your hold will be removed within a few days of completion.

Students who were admitted to their graduate program prior to completing their undergraduate degree must submit a final transcript to the Graduate School which shows their graduation date. If Spring 2023 will be your first semester as a graduate student, your hold will NOT effect your ability to register.  If Fall 2022 is your first semester, please order a transcript ASAP and have it sent to the ECU Graduate School.
