Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge: Registration is now open

Registration for the 8th annual Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge (PEC) is now open. Student-led teams are invited to bring their ideas, products, or existing businesses to ECU’s Mall on Oct. 22 for the first of three rounds.  Members of the ECU community will cast votes to determine who moves on the second round, Feb. 4, 2025. 

Almost $200,000 in cash and in-kind services is available.

Since its inception, the PEC has awarded more than $900,000 in cash prizes and awards.

The PEC is the biggest pitch competition of its kind in the UNC System.  

Who’s eligible to participate?

Any team must have one ECU student (grad or undergrad).  More than 50 majors have been represented over the years.
