INTL 6510: Global and Multicultural Discourse

INTL 6510 counts toward fulfilling the requirements for the INTL Management Certificate.

Two sections available:
on campus, Wednesdays from 6-8:45 p.m., CRN 35889
or
online for DE students, CRN 33686

Instructor: Dr. David L. Smith (smithdav@ecu.edu)

Together we will analyze issues of contemporary global importance as depicted in contemporary literature, films, and theoretical texts from around the world. As we do, we will question where culture might be located in any given society, especially in a postmodern context, and how can we recognize, appreciate, and negotiate cultural similarities and difference? How are the global issues under discussion seen to be impacting local societies? We will emphasize the practical application of our acquired knowledge to situations one might encounter in business, criminal justice, education, government, and the non-profit sector.
