The Spring Career Fair is today, March 13, at the Greenville Convention Center from 1pm – 4pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to look for jobs, internships and grow your professional network with over 200 employers!
Helpful tips for the Career Fair:
Be prepared– Review and research the list of employers and spend a little time getting some background information.
Dress appropriately– Professional dress is required for admittance to the fair.
Don’t rush– Take your time and allow adequate time to engage with as many employers as possible.
Prioritize- You may find it best to start with the companies that you’re less interested to allow time to hone your approach and be most confident when you approach the employers you’re most interested in learning about. The reality is – you may have only a little time since other students may be interested in the same employers, so assume that you may need to wait to speak with an employer.
Introduction- When introducing yourself – speak your name clearly, shake hands firmly and make good eye contact. This technique will make a difference!
Don’t Trick or Treat– Some companies bring large quantities of print materials or “give aways” clearly intended for students to take. Others bring a few copies or sample products as displays at their tables. Always ask an employer before taking any materials from their table.
Smile- People enjoy others who are happy and excited to be there so make sure your face clearly expresses “happy”.
