Accounting Internship | Summer 2020
Professional Builders Supply, LLC (PBS) is headquartered In Morrisville, NC and serves the residential construction industry through the sale and distribution of building materials through key metropolitan markets in North and South Carolina. We have an opening for an Accounting Intern to work in our Accounting Department in the summer of 2020.
The Accounting department consists of 5 staff responsible for Financial Control and Reporting, Treasury, Payroll and Payables processes necessary to run our $330 million business. PBS typically hires one Accounting Intern each summer to assist with various Accounting processes, ranging from Accounts Payable to Cash Management to Monthly Reporting and special project work. An Intern who works with us for at least 2 ½ months (or more depending on availability) can expect to develop an understanding of the how financial controls and systems work inside an operating entity. This is an hourly paid position, with the pay rate determined based on experience and capability – we have paid hourly rates ranging from $12 to $15 per hour. Solid personal computing skills are important to success in this position including capability on Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
We have employed several students in this intern program over the past 5 years with good success. Our ideal candidate is someone who has completed their senior year, is enrolled in the Masters of Accounting program for the fall and on a CPA track. We would also consider a rising seniors as well. Both our CFO and CEO are well connected within the North Carolina CPA Industry and have been very successful in assisting past interns with making appropriate contacts for interviews and future career placement with various National and Regional Public Accounting practices.
