Spring Grad Expo Is This Week!
The Spring Grad Expo for May 2020 graduates will be held on the lower level of Dowdy Student Stores on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 25 & 26, from 10 am until 7 pm, and on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 10 am until 4 pm. Parking is available in the deck for $1/hour as space allows. ECU Transit is available as well, using the Main Campus Student Center bus stop.
Pick up your cap and gown. Student fees have already covered the cost of the cap, gown and tassel for undergraduates, so all you have to do is fill out a Commencement Apparel Form. We will have plenty of forms at the Expo, or you can save time and complete the form online:https://eastcarolinauniversity.formstack.com/forms/commencement_apparel_form. If completing the form online, you will receive an email with a PDF copy of the form to print and bring to the Expo.
Master’s degree students will need to purchase a hood.
Distance education students or those away on internships who are unable to make it to the Grad Expo can order their cap & gown online after February 27th and have it shipped for a small fee.
Order your class ring. Take a look at ECU’s official ring collection. Try them on, have your finger sized, and talk with Jostens representatives to create a ring exactly how you want it!
Get your graduation invitations and announcements. Custom-printed, personalized announcements and invitations are available from Jostens. Talk with a representative to find out what is available. Dowdy Student Stores also offer generic, printed announcements with coordinating envelopes and inserts on which you can write your name and degree.
Buy a frame for your diploma. All University Frames brand frames will be 15% off during the Expo. Pick out one you like in the store and take it home or design a custom one online and have it shipped. If buying online through University Frames, use code ECUGF15 (Feb. 25 – March 1) for the discount.
Get special offers from campus organizations. Learn about life after graduation, job hunting and more by visiting with representatives from Career Services, the Alumni Association, Pirate Club, registrar, and the Graduate School.
Order a Custom Stole or get one in the store. Our vendor will be on-site taking orders for custom embroidered stoles. Other stoles, including U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and Kente cloth stoles, are available in-store.
Souvenir tassels and tassel keychains are available for purchase, as well as extra caps for decorating.
Enter our drawing. Make sure you pick up an entry card and visit with vendors at the Expo so you’ll have a chance to win one of these prizes: three $100 Dowdy gift cards (compliments of Jostens) and a diploma frame (compliments of University Frames). No purchase is necessary to enter the drawing. One entry per student, May 2020 graduates only.
Shop til you drop. While you’re in the store, grab that alumni t-shirt you’ve had your eye on! All alumni apparel and alumni gift merchandise will be 15% off during the Expo.

Attend the Senior Sendoff. The SENIOR SENDOFF celebration is an added attraction for grads at The Commons on Tuesday, February 25, from 11 am to 3 pm. While at the Expo, be sure and pick up a ticket to enter a drawing at the Senior Sendoff for a diploma frame that will be given away by the Office of Student Transitions.
