GA Needed for ECU Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering

The ECU Center for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering (CSE3 https://cet.ecu.edu/cse3/ ) seeks MS students to support  two Pollution Prevention (P2) projects  funded by the USA EPA. The projects are led by CSE3 in partnership with multiple centers and organizations in NC. The projects aim to reduce pollution, conserve water, and save energy through lean and green practices in the food and beverage processing, automotive industry, chemical manufacturing, and metal manufacturing and fabrication industries in North Carolina. The projects provide on-site P2 and lean diagnostic assessments,  on-site energy audits of specified systems,   regional workshops, on-site training workshops, and   one-day training workshops.

The selected student will work with a team of CSE3 faculty and students.  Job duties could include technical data collection and processing, assist project team in energy assessments,  help with cost benefit analysis, and help with the implementation of the technical recommendations.

Students are expected to work roughly 10-20hrs/week. Working days and hours can be arranged around the student’s schedule with the CSE3 Director, Dr. Tarek Abdel Salam.
