Urgent GAOpp: Retention Chatbot Project


The PeeDee Retention Chatbot project is seeking one Graduate Assistant (GA) for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semester. The GA will report to the Project Coordinator who is a staff member in the Thomas Harriot College of Arts & Sciences.

Program Description:
AdmitHub is a student engagement platform that will help guide students throughout their academic journey at ECU. AdmitHub uses a behaviorally intelligent chatbot to drive student success. It allows for reminders and important campus alerts through text messaging.

About the Project:
We will be implementing the AdmitHub system into various retention areas at ECU. These areas include academic advising, tutoring, registrars, financial aid, scholarships, writing center, cashiers office, and housing/dining.

Responsibilities ofthe Graduate Assistant
• Create ‘understanding’ and questions on generic content areas where there are not functional owners.
• Monitor generic text flags to ensure ‘understandings’ are created to unanswered questions.
• Distribute questions that are not answered to content areas to ensure answers are input into the system.
• Train chatbot.
• Provide project support to project leadership.
• Other project duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• ECU graduate student enrolled full-time in a master’s degree program for the 2021-2022 academic year (three courses each semester)
• Continued enrollment with a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential data and information
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
• Demonstrated communication, organizational, and computer skills

Length of Appointment:
The GA will work 20 hours a week. Expected work dates are ASAP – May 15, 2022 (excludes student observed holidays).
The GA should be available during business hours during the week to collaborate with team members. Exact work arrangement to be determined as project moves forward. This position will require an on-campus presence.

Compensation:
Stipend of $12,500 for the dates noted above. Position open until filled.
