Partnership brings networking event for professionals to ECU

A group of professionally dressed people stand around a high-top table at a networking event, engaged in conversation inside a bright, modern venue with large windows.
The monthly Business After Hours networking event will be June 4 at ECU.

Participants have the chance to expand networks and create lasting connections at the Greenville-Pitt Chamber’s June Business After Hours event, which will be held at East Carolina University. In collaboration with the Office of Expert Services, the ECU Graduate School and ECU Undergraduate Admissions, Business After Hours gives professionals from across the region a chance to spend an evening building relationships in the heart of campus.

As ECU continues its focus on regional transformation and engagement, events like Business After Hours create opportunities for collaboration and the exchange of ideas across eastern North Carolina.

“This is one of those events where you can feel the momentum in the room, and we’re glad to be part of it,” said Dr. Amy McMillan, associate dean for research and regional transformation and the executive director for the Office of Expert Services in the College of Business. “It’s about showing up, meeting people and seeing where those conversations lead.”

Karen Kus, executive director of engagement and impact in ECU’s College of Business, said hosting the event on ECU’s campus creates an opportunity to showcase both the university and the partnerships being built across the region.

“I’m so excited for people to come to ECU and see our beautiful campus,” Kus said. “It has been great going to these events each month and connecting with people. It will be nice to see them on our ‘turf.’ It will be an awesome opportunity to highlight the graduate and undergraduate admissions offices and the Office of Expert Services!”

The free event will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. at the ECU Main Campus Student Center in Room 125 on June 4. Register online at the Greenville-Pitt Chamber Event Registration Page. Guests are encouraged to bring business cards, meet new people and enjoy a relaxed evening of networking and conversation.

Free parking is available in the Student Center parking garage and nearby surface lots.
