Congratulations, Terrell Wells (MBA '16)
The Frank Hawkins Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise held its semi-annual Board of Advisors Reception and Dinner on April 28. This event celebrates the student leaders who make an impact on the Kenan Institute’s research and other work in its core focus areas: entrepreneurship, economic progress and global commerce. At the reception, the Kenan Institute Impact Award was presented to Terrell Wells, an East Carolina University MBA student who works with the Kenan Institute.
Wells received the Kenan Institute Impact Award for his work with NCGrowth. The award recognizes a student who has made a significant impact on the Kenan Institute through work on projects and participation in various activities that drive the Kenan Institute’s mission and has an impact on UNC and the community. Wells is completing his second project with NCGrowth, and has worked closely with executives at local companies (a powerboat manufacturer and family-owned cleaning company) to make their operations more efficient and organized. He has worked tirelessly to further the mission of NCGrowth by helping businesses create jobs and allow communities to create sustainable and equitable opportunities for their people.
“We are proud to honor our students and staff, and want to congratulate all of our Leadership Fellows as well as Tony and Terrell for their efforts to advance the Kenan Institute mission and bring research, action, and economic prosperity to local communities and beyond,” says Dr. Gregory Brown, Kenan Institute director and professor of finance.
