The Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge (PEC) is the Miller School’s signature business pitch competition. It’s open to all entrepreneurship teams that have at least one enrolled ECU student.

The three-round challenge begins in October with an open-to-all, tradeshow style set up.  Winners from there will move on to round two. The PEC will culminate in a final round the following February.

In 2019, more than $75,000 in cash and prizes were awarded to teams who placed in the competition, making the PEC the richest entrepreneurship pitch competition in North Carolina.

The First Round of the 2019-2020 PEC is Oct 15, 2019, 12 – 2 p.m. outside of the new Student Center. All students (regardless of major or year) can apply! Total prizes will be more than $100,000 in cash and inkind services. Ideas can advance to 2nd round by popular vote or judges choice
