Campus Lactation Rooms

The Lactation Committee, supported by the Office for Equity & Diversity, have been working with campus partners to help improve and maintain the designated lactation spaces on campus.

ECU provides ten (10) designated lactation rooms between Main Campus and the Health Sciences Campus. The designated lactation room locations are cataloged on IPAR’s website.

The Lactation Committee is happy to announce that five (5) designated lactation rooms on campus now offer Medela Symphony multi-user, hospital grade pumps for any employee,
student or guest who is currently pumping and who has the proper connecting pump parts*.

Three (3) Medela Symphony pumps are available on Main Campus in the following locations: Main Student Center LWCC 100H, Joyner Library 1414 and Brewster A106.

Two (2) Medela Symphony pumps will be available on Health Science Campus in the following locations:
Family Medicine Building Room 2918A and coming soon Brody School of Medicine Room 2L205.

Room Accessibility
Please note, some rooms require users to request access, while other rooms are open while not in use. If users intend on using the pumps provided, users will need to check in with a designated keyholder prior to obtaining the key and sign the required paperwork for temporary assignment.

*Pump users must provide their own connecting parts that connect to the Medela Symphony multi-user, hospital grade pump.

Student Health Services has added connection kits as an over-the-counter item for sale in the main campus pharmacy. The kit includes two flanges, two bottles, two membranes, tubing and connectors to the Medela Symphony Multi-User pumps. The cost of the kit is $40.00 plus tax.
