Business Student-Athletes Excel

The Department of Athletics’ “2016 Breakfast of Champions“ recognized quite a few College of Business Students.  The annual Breakfast of Champions is the year-end recognition of many student-athletes that excelled in the classroom during the year.

This year’s Outstanding Scholar Athlete was Travis Watkins.  Travis is the catcher on the baseball team and is majoring in Management.  After undergoing elbow surgery in 2014, Travis returned to the team and has been the Pirates’ starting catcher for the past two seasons and is one of the team’s three current captains. He is a four-time nominee for the Johnny Bench award.

This year’s winner of the Walter and Marie Williams “Spirit of the East” Scholarship is Parker Lamm.  Parker is a senior outfielder and is one of three team captains elected by his peers. Parker is also a Management major.
