Construction Update: COB Student Tech Center

Construction began June 13th on the new College of Business student technology center. Demolition of interior walls is now complete and framing of the new space is well underway. Construction is scheduled to be completed by September 1st and finishing work will continue throughout the fall semester with plans for the new STC to open with the start of spring 2017 semester.

The new modern 6,000+ square foot student space will include collaborative meeting areas, a business center, an information center, interactive white boards, and glassed-in conference rooms and will focus on the integration of technology with new finishes and furnishings to provide an inviting environment that promotes collaboration and creativity.

The layout and development of the new space included student survey feedback, numerous focus groups with faculty and students, visits to other innovative spaces on campus and across the state, as well as taking cues from the private sector. MHAworks, a North Carolina-based architecture firm, provided the planning and design.
