Marriott Visits SHL

Recruiters from Marriott International recently visited the College’s School of Hospitality Leadership (SHL) to recruit December School graduates for the Management Training program, Voyageur.

D’Neatra Richmond from Marriott’s University Recruitment group and Karla Cloninger, senior account executive (and SHL graduate)for Marriott International, held an information session first and then interviewed student the following day.

 

SHL Faculty, Students Represent at IMEX America Convention and Tradeshow

The 7th annual IMEX America Convention and Tradeshow took place at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas from October 9 to 13, 2017.   The largest national convention targeted to meeting and event professionals, it attracted more than 12,000 attendees and exhibitors. SHL faculty Dr. Alleah Crawford, Dr. George Fenich and Mr. Frank Cox participated along with students Kelsey Cross, Taylor Hetzel, Dawn Taylor, Anitta Malloy and Megan Smicklas.

As part of the tradeshow, College faculty, plus more than 50 other nation-wide faculty, participated in two days of Faculty Engagement. Dr. Fenich is the co-chair of the program.  The students also took part in a separate two-day Future Leaders Forum. Participants in the Forum were there ‘by invitation only’, and SHL used its entire allocation of student slots.   Dr. Crawford presented a paper, and Mr. Cox coordinated the students.

Powell Finds Pirate in Fayetteville

College Advisor Aisha Powell participated in a recent ECU recruitment trip with the Office of Admissions and was greeted by SHL graduate Jose Morales ’14.

Mr. Morales is the manager of the Hilton Garden Inn in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
