Toketa Greenfield: SHL outstanding senior

Goldsboro-native Toketa Greenfield will graduate in December. She has been selected as the School of Hospitality Leadership (SHL) Outstanding Senior. She recently shared with us a little more about her story.

“I quit my full-time job in 2017 to seek an education in Hospitality Management. I was hesitant at first because my previous academic journey ended in failure, but with the encouragement of my family and friends, I pushed toward my goal.  I chose the School of Hospitality Leadership at East Carolina University because I knew I would get what I needed to become a creative, organized and knowledgeable hospitality leader.

Since my time at East Carolina and SHL, I have learned what it means to be service-oriented, maintain professionalism, and the importance of working as a team. I have enjoyed this experience so much that my future goal is to work in the hospitality industry for several years. Then I plan to transition into becoming a professor after completing additional education. I hope to one day help students realize their full potential and reach for their goals without fear of failure.”
