Morgan Abdalla (ECU ’19) and Matt White (BSBA’18) from the Carolina Panthers visited ECU Feb. 6. They spent part of the day with the communications department and then finished the day with a tour of Bate and of the Isley Hub led by Interim Dean Mike Harris.

While at the ECU, Abdalla and White met with the COB’s Student Leadership Board and spoke about their college journeys (from ECU grads to the competitive sports industry of the NFL) to their careers in sales and how leadership shines in their industry.

About visiting their alma mater, White said, “I had a great time coming back to ECU! The experience of talking to students and the ECU student leadership board was amazing. I know how it feels to be in the shoes of a college student, so to be able to share our experiences and journey with them had a great impact on me. It was also wonderful to see all the new things happening around campus. Go Pirates!

“I had the best time visiting ECU’s campus as an alumna,” said Abdalla. “Getting to discuss my job with college students is exciting because the sports industry is a fascinating world to be a part of, and I love being able to give insight. Both the Deans and the staff from the College of Business and the College of Fine Arts and Communication were incredibly kind and welcoming. Visiting classes and getting to relive my journey from ECU to the Carolina Panthers was surreal. I got to speak in classes that I used to attend as a student- how crazy is that?! Then, going to the Student Leadership Board meeting was incredible as we got to dive deeper into all facets of the sports industry. It was truly the best day, Go Pirates!”
