Faculty Friday: Meet Dr. Linda Quick
Meet Dr. Linda Quick
Dr. Linda Quick has been teaching accounting for 6½ years. Before she came to ECU she taught at the University of South Carolina for 5 years, while she completed her PhD. However, Dr. Quick is not new to ECU. She attended the school and received both her undergraduate and masters degrees here at the College of Business.
Along with teaching accounting, she does psychology-based research concerning various topics, such as auditors and the implementation of international accounting standards in the United States.
A fun fact about Dr. Quick is that her favorite quote is, “Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.”. In addition to teaching and research, she enjoys running, tailgating, and attending ECU football games with some friends from college.
When asked if she could give her students one piece of advice, she said that she would tell them to “stay organized and make sure to spend time before and after class reviewing the material. This is much more efficient than cramming before the big exam.”.
In her free time, Dr. Quick enjoys watching football, running with her dog Ty and spending time with her family. During her time here at ECU, she wants to help students reach their full potential and raise the profile of the College of Business.
