Crowd-Funding

Crowd-Funding represents the marketing of the future.  From creative, social projects to start-up companies, Crowd-Funding is a new source of independent financing. It utilizes three populations including the Project Developer who seeks the funds, the Donators who may receive a stake in the project, a token gift or simply good feelings for supporting a worthwhile cause and the Platform.  The fundraising Platforms may include: Kickstarter, Fundly, GoFundMe, Microventures, and Fundageek just to name a few. These platforms take a pre-set percentage of the money raised by the venture.  The platform has become a popular source of funding for independent projects around the globe and appeals to the connected generation.

Dear friends, family, colleagues, fellow filmmakers and supporters,
I am seeking funding for a feature documentary film about pollution, education & culture in Central America. The amazing natural wonders and quality of life in Central America are being slowly destroyed by litter and pollution. This film is being made to ask “Why?” and hopefully find answers to the problem.  In making this film, I hope to draw attention to a devastating and pervasive issue that is plaguing the small and beautiful countries.

• In the summer of 2014 I set out on an adventure of a lifetime.
• What I encountered made me want to help in any way that I could.
• Pristine coastlines and waterways are being destroyed by pollution and litter.
• This litter is having devastating consequences to the people in the region.
• Quality of life will decrease further through polluted water and soil, creating an potential health epidemic.
• Tourism, a major economic contributor, may decrease as the pollution increases.

There are many ways that may address the problem and possibly even reverse the current course; but immediate action is needed if we want to preserve the way of life for the locals and the majestic beauty of the region.
