SHL Welcomes Disney International Participants

New Pirates!

The School of Hospitality Leadership (SHL) welcomed the 2015 Disney International Program participants. Twenty-eight students from four South American universities. From Ecuador: the Universidad del San Francisco (Quito), from Peru: the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) and Universidad Nacional San Augustin, Arequipa (UNSA), and from Colombia (Politecnico Grancolombiano – Bogota). Students were recruited in the spring by a Disney/ ECU team that Dr. Cynthia Deale of SHL and Dr. Jim Gehlhar. Students will participate in an internship at Walt Disney World while enrolled in 15 credits via distance education from ECU in the School of Hospitality Leadership.

The accepted students are pictured above in their new Pirate gear attending the ECU/SHL orientation. ECU was represented by Dr. Jim Gehlhar and Katie Erickson of the Office of International Affairs and Professor Robert M. O’Halloran of the School of Hospitality Leadership.
