TRU Deli + Wine, located in Downtown Chapel Hill, is an original restaurant and bar concept that provides design-your-own sandwiches, salads, and wraps, along with quality wine. TRU’s bar offers a wide selection of West Coast beers and wines from all over the world, as well as a large selection of tequilas.

Job Description
The general manager oversees all operations in the restaurant. The GM is responsible to for scheduling, ordering and maintaining inventory, processing and maintaining payroll, tending to the store’s environment and design, resolving guest and employee issues, maintaining health standards and food quality, and overseeing certain financial aspects of the company. Other responsibilities include the maintenance of the restaurant’s social media presence, and the planning, preparation, execution of events and catering orders, hiring/training, and project development.

Job Requirements
Applicants must have:
High level organizational skills; an ability to calmly communicate with guests and employees; conflict resolution abilities; basic understanding of and ability to maintain computer systems and digital communication lines; a basic understanding of health and safety protocol when dealing with meat, produce, and alcohol; the ability to manage a large, constantly changing workforce.

Desired Skills and Experience
Some past management experience is expected but not required. Calendar and email maintenance are essential, along with general organizational skills. Knowledge of and experience working with Apple products is expected. Serve-Safe certification is a plus, and will be required if accepted.

Education Required
A 4-year degree or certificate in hospitality is suggested; a high school diploma is required.

Compensation is based on experience and education
