ECU School of Hospitality Leadership Honors Late Colleague with New Scholarship

The ECU School of Hospitality Leadership in the College of Business today announced the creation of the Carol L. Taylor Spirit of Hospitality Award, funded by a generous gift from the Taylor family.

caroltaylorThe annual $1,000 scholarship honors the memory of Carol L. Taylor, a friend and colleague in the School of Hospitality Leadership who passed away in 2014.
Dr. Robert O’Halloran, professor and director of ECU’s School of Hospitality Leadership, said,Carol touched the lives of countless students and faculty throughout her time at ECU. Her work ethic, attitude, and personality were a symbol of hospitality. Although she left us too soon, we are honored to have this award for our students that keeps her spirit alive.”

Recipients of the Carol L. Taylor Spirit of Hospitality Award will receive $1,000 to be used toward tuition as well as an engraved plaque. The award will be given each spring semester, beginning in 2016. Hospitality students can either apply for consideration or be nominated by a faculty or staff member in the School of Hospitality Leadership.
