Beta Gamma Sigma Student Highlight: Kristina Boycheva

“One of the most significant and special things about the ECU College of Business is the small classroom environment that the school offers. I prefer small classroom settings because the instructor is able to have more interactions with the students and assist them better.“

Kristina Boycheva, MBA ’15

Originally from Bulgaria, Kristina Boycheva is an international student in her final semester of the MBA program. She graduated magna cum laude from ECU with her marketing degree in 2013, and she has continued to excel in the MBA program. The College of Business recently honored her with the Gary Warren Scholarship in Business to recognize her outstanding achievement.
During her undergraduate studies at ECU, Boycheva lived in Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and commuted to Greenville twice per week. Last year, she began living between the two cities, spending weekdays in Greenville and weekends in the Outer Banks.
Since fall 2014, Boycheva has served as a graduate assistant for the ECU College of Business Career Center and Advising Center, where she works 25 hours per week. She has also volunteered at the Outer Banks Hotline Crisis Intervention and Prevention Center. After graduation in December, she hopes to begin a career as a data analyst.
She said, “My advice to the upcoming COB students is to actively listen to their professors and learn as much as possible from their lectures. Ask questions and build good relationships with classmates, instructors, and counselors.“
Boycheva was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest recognition a business student can achieve, during her senior year.
“I was sincerely honored to receive the invitation to join the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society recognizing business excellence,” she said. “One of the best benefits of the membership is that the GMAT test score is waived when applying to ECU’s MBA program. It is a great recognition of my hard work and academic achievements.”
