ECU Accounting Department Hosts NCACPA

The Department of Accounting in ECU’s College of Business hosted the NC Association of CPAs (NCACPA) first quarterly meeting of the 2016 year on January 21st.  This was the first time that the organization held a meeting on a college campus.  Everyone was welcomed to ECU’s campus and the Board meeting was held in the Club Level of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. The meeting was shortened due to a winter storm that hit the area, however, the meeting was a success and ECU gained even more fans.

While inclement weather cancelled a presentation by Coach Connors, ECU’s strength and conditioning coach, Rick Niswander presented on the work he is doing with the AICPA, Bill Ezzell and Eddie Sams spoke on their work toward the health and wellness of accounting programs throughout the state of NC, and Samantha Ruppert, a current MSA student, shared her study abroad experiences.   The Honorable Tim Moore, Speaker of the NC House of Representatives, was also in attendance.

Of course, everyone’s favorite visitor was PeeDee the Pirate!
