School of Hospitality Leadership Awards Scholarships

The School of Hospitality Leadership (SHL) has awarded $50,000 in scholarships to assist students during the 2016-2017 academic year. SHL students were invited to apply for scholarships beginning in late 2015 and through early 2016. The school is fortunate to have the support of alumni and industry organizations that provide funding for these scholarships.  The following Scholarships were awarded this year: the Don and Linda Lassiter Scholarship, the J.R. and Elgie Wordsworth Scholarship, the Aramark Scholarship, the William H. Bodenhamer USA Parking System Scholarship, the Irwin Roberts Scholarship, The Carol Taylor Spirit of Hospitality Scholarship, the Bengel Family Scholarship and the scholarships from the American Hotel and Lodging Education Foundation.

The SHL Scholarship committee, headed by Dr. Jay Lee, analyzed all the applications and awarded scholarships to twenty five students that met the scholarship criteria. The following students were awarded scholarships: Alexandra Fox, Annaliese Gillette, Ashley Larsen, Catrina Dockery, Courtney Phillips, Daniel VanDeMoere, David Teague, Halle Babel, Jade Ruddy, Janice Jeup-Wilson, Jennifer Fox, Katerina Haranovich, Kayla Houck, Lashanna Whitley, Laura Amos, Laurie Williamson, Madison Thompson, Mary Poteat, Sara Carlin, Sara Hartline, Savannah Carlucci, Shana Mawm, Timothy Wilson, Trinity Sondys, and Victoria Hawkins.
