SHL Selected for AHLA Lodging Conference

The School of Hospitality Leadership at East Carolina University has been selected to participate in the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation’s (AHLEF) Lodging Conference Scholarship Program, being held September 26-29, 2016.  Each year, only ten schools are invited to nominate one of their AHLEF scholarship recipients to attend The Lodging Conference at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix. This is a wonderful opportunity for both AHLEF and the schools to showcase their scholarship recipients to senior level lodging executives. Since AHLEF will be hosting a special donor reception this year, it’s especially important that our best and brightest scholars attend. Students will attend all activities, including the Think Tank Sessions.

  • SHL selected student is Daniel Van DeMoere

The registration is donated by Harry Javer, president of the Conference Bureau and co-founder of the Lodging Conference.  AHLEF will pay for the participating student’s lodging at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa plus a $450 stipend to be used toward travel costs and incidental expenses.  This is an invaluable networking opportunity for your students and many receive not only job offers but create career-changing contacts.
