Find the Next Entrepreneur!

Play a key role in the first round of the inaugural Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge, which is only one week away!

Voting for competition begins Tue, Oct 17th from 12-2pm in the Sculpture Garden located between Joyner Library and Mendenhall Student Center. The open-air tradeshow will showcase more than sixty ECU student entrepreneurial teams at various stages of progress; from idea concept, to prototype development, to early stage revenue. Business ideas are creative and incorporate entrepreneurship from disciplines that include the service sector, software, the arts, physical product development, and innovative business models for more traditional firms.

Twelve teams will be selected from the first round to advance to round two, with six teams decided by a panel of judges and six teams chosen by popular vote from the campus community. So come out and cast your vote to support our student entrepreneurs!

About the Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge
The Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge is the ECU College of Business Miller School of Entrepreneurship signature business pitch competition. The competition is open to all entrepreneurship teams with at least one enrolled ECU student. This three-round pitch competition begins with over 60 student teams in an open-air trade show and narrows to 12 teams for the second round of the competition. Six teams advance to the third and final round and are paired with individual mentors to help further develop the business concept. The competition concludes when three finalists are announced and $20,000 in cash prizes is awarded to winners. Winners from the Pirate Challenge will continue on to represent ECU at Regional and National competitions. For more information, contact David Mayo at mayod@ecu.edu.
