School of Hospitality Selected to Participate in The Lodging Conference

The School of Hospitality Leadership at East Carolina University was selected to participate in the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation’s (AHLEF) Lodging Conference Scholarship Program, that was held Oct 30 – Nov 2, 2017 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix.  Each year, only ten schools are invited to nominate one of their AHLEF scholarship recipients to attend The Lodging Conference. Dr. Robert O’Halloran, SHL Director and SHL senior and AHLA Scholarship recipient, Madison Thompson attended the conference.

This is one of the top hotel industry events in the world. Over the past 22 years, tens of thousands of high-powered hotel owners and executives from around the globe have participated. The event has been sold out for the last five years with attendance of 1800+ participants. The conference brings together the hotel industry’s most influential owners, operators, presidents, CEOs and dealmakers to strategize about development, finance, franchising, management, construction, design, and operations. More than just a conference, the entire event is a THINK TANK where everybody in attendance has the opportunity to join in the conversation, discuss issues, and solve problems.
