Class Project with Glean Leads to Hiring of College Marketing Student, Mallory Sunda

This past semester, College of Business Marketing and ECU Nutrition Science students partnered with the local company, Glean, which offers clean and delicious health foods while focusing on innovation, sustainability and social responsibility. The students experienced innovation, entrepreneurship and engagement by assisting Glean owners in determining uses for sweet potato flour in food formulations and developing marketing plans for the new products.

The project not only gave College of Business students unparalleled experience, but it resulted in Ham Farms, Glean’s parent company, hiring marketing senior Mallory Sunda. Sunda, from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is graduating December 2017 and accepted the position as director of marketing. At Ham Farms she will be very busy undertaking exciting responsibilities including re-aligning and re-branding Ham’s companies with a new and fresh approach. She will conduct marketing research; manage design and creatives for web content, marketing materials and packaging; manage the company’s social media; generate leads; and attend trade shows. She will also serve as the primary contact for customer service. Lastly, she will be setting budget and sales goals, as well as tracking performance.

Congratulations to both Mallory Sunda and the ECU College of Business and Nutrition Science students!
