Nick Venditti, a senior in the College of Business, took third place at the recent inaugural Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge. For more information about the event, click here.

At the challenge, Venditti had a five-minute session where he pitched his company, FOWL, to statewide and regional entrepreneurs who served as judges. His efforts paid off, and he walked away with third place and a $2,500 cash prize. Nick and FOWL were one of seven teams to compete in the challenge.

The Pirate Entrepreneurship Challenge is the signature pitch competition of East Carolina University’s College of Business and its Miller School of Entrepreneurship. The challenge began in October 2017 with 57 teams competing for cash prizes, then 12 teams moving on to the second round in November. Third-round finalists were paired with individual mentors who helped the student teams develop their business concepts.

FOWL creates fashionable and versatile bags that reflect a lifestyle of living with no limits.
