Private Club Management Students Present Projects

Students in the Private Club Management class recently presented group projects to the Ayden Golf and Country Club (AGCC). AGCC is located in Ayden, North Carolina about 5 miles south of Greenville and has approximately 200 members, an 18-hole golf course, and a pro shop. Brandon Robertson, AGCC general manager and ECU hospitality management graduate, was on-hand to view class presentations.

Each project focused on the club’s need to recruit and maintain members in the 21st century. Specifically, Mr. Robertson asked students to help identify ways to attract more members that include young professionals and students. Projects involved developing creative membership marketing ideas for the club. Some ideas included making renovations to the pool area, implementing apps, recruiting at local events and festivals, developing a full-service bar with related cocktail hour events, and providing childcare.
