COB Center for Student Success Reflects on Busy Spring

The advising team in the COB Center for Student Success is always busy. They were especially busy this past semester with a variety of activities. Check out these highlights.

Get a Foot up

This last event in the series of COB sophomore programming was a huge success! Faculty-student engagement and networking is a critical piece in academic and career success. Students found this opportunity to network with COB faculty and staff rewarding and informative. And, they learned more about the College’s internship and graduate opportunities.

From Student Leader to the Real World

This collaborative event with the College of Business, Office of Student Activities and Organizations and the Student Government Association was a hit! Rain and snow did not temper or dampen the event. Students heard from Angie McCoy, COB internship coordinator, and ECU Alumni about how to talk to employers about their involvement in college activities.

Conference Participation

Tamette Goddard and Aisha Powell, assistant directors with the COB’s undergraduate programs, presented at the 15th Annual Males of Color Empowerment and Retention Conference in Detroit, Michigan. Their presentation was titled Inclusive Academic and Career Advising: A Focus on Learning Styles, Personalities, and Motivation of African-American Males Enrolled in Predominately White Institutions.
