Marketing Senior Awarded for Citizenship

For her citizenship and serving as a positive role model, Jewalle Wright, a senior marketing major from Charlotte, North Carolina, recently was awarded a Creed Award during ECU’s Dean of Students’ Creed Recognition Ceremony.

The East Carolina Creed can be found here.

Wright was nominated by COB’s Kathyrn Carroll. Why was Wright deserving? Carroll sums it up very succinctly.

“Jewalle Wright contributes significantly to the university and our community.  On campus, Ms. Wright serves as an alumni outreach intern with the East Carolina Alumni Association and assists in planning and implementing events for the ECU Women’s Roundtable and Black Alumni Chapter.  She also serves as the secretary for the Black Law Professions Student Organization.  While she purposefully does this work to further her interest in marketing, she also does it because she loves ECU and her pirate family.  Ms. Wright has been an active volunteer in our greater community.  She served for four months raising funds, supporting awareness events and sending cards of encouragement in her work with the McConnell-Raab Hope Lodge Cancer Center.  She also has given back by tutoring elementary students at the Carver Library After-school Moyewood Program, which is offered through the Greenville Housing Authority. She is a positive role model for each of these students, and I expect she will continue to give.”

Congratulations, Jewalle!
