Miller school thanks regional clients

The College of Business’ (COB) Miller School of Entrepreneurship recently held a client appreciation luncheon for regional clients, including the small and closely-held organizations who participated in the Miller School’s small and family-owned business consulting courses. Attendees included Sound Partners, Williams & Sons Painting, Hyde County Mattamuskeet Lodge, Havens Wharf Marina, Greenville Produce, and the Eastern North Carolina Food Commercialization Center. "The Miller School relies on the business community for event sponsorship, student mentoring and judging at our competitions,” said Dr. Dennis Barber, III, assistant professor who helped organize the event. “Without community partners, we would not be able to provide such a rich learning experience for our students who offer a valuable and impactful service in return. This luncheon is a way for us to thank our clients.” Barber added, “we also were pleased to have our partners from North Carolina’s Small Business and Technology Development Center and ECU’s Office of Innovation and New Ventures join us.” During the 2018-19 academic year, approximately 125 students from the Miller School completed award-winning consulting projects for 25 regional clients, accounting for over 10,000 service-learning hours. “This event complemented the Miller School’s dedication to becoming a leader in rural entrepreneurship and family business initiatives,” added Dr. Mike Harris, director of the Miller School of Entrepreneurship. The College of Business’ (COB) Miller School of Entrepreneurship recently held a client appreciation luncheon for regional clients, including the small and closely-held organizations who participated in the Miller School’s small and family-owned business consulting courses.
