2019 Italy #COBGlobal: Milan and the Duomo

An ECUCOB, Study Abroad Travel Log By Jessica Frey

Wow; the one word that sums up my experience in Milan. There was so much going on, but I was still able to enjoy every minute. The sights were amazing, the streets were busy, and the food was delicious. By walking around, you could definitely tell you were in the fashion capital of the world.

We started the morning off with a walking tour through the parks of Milan. I never expected such a big city to have such beautiful parks and pathways. We started off visiting the Sforza castle. It was simply breathtaking — the size of the courtyards allowed for so much open space to admire the castle’s beauty.

Lastly, we visited the Duomo Cathedral. As a Catholic, this was especially important and special to me. About a year ago, I visited the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, but the Duomo’s architectural detail was unbelievable and left me speechless. I couldn’t stop staring and taking pictures of every angle and every single corner. The view from the rooftop was amazing. One could see the skyline from the north and just about everything in the city.
